Description

This whimsical and iconic dinnerware pattern was designed for Upsala Ekeby by Eva Bladh in the early 1950s. Upsala Ekeby was a renowned porcelain, tile, and glass company which was operational from 1886 - 1978 in Uppsala, Sweden. The mod floral Ignis Bellis pattern was produced from 1952 - 1958 and is highly sought after by collectors. Plates are stamped on the back with the Upsala Ekeby Karlskrona logo. This small covered saucepan is in very good vintage condition, with no chips, cracks, or crazing. The flower border motif is completely intact. Collectors' info about this particular piece indicate it was designed for stovetop use but to preserve the excellent condition it may be best used for serving dip or other non-heated foods
