PYROCERAM-CLAD ALUMINUM BOTTOM SAUCEPAN WITH COVER FOR RANGETOP USE - NOT MICROWAVE GC-4 SPICE O' LIFE This is A BRAND NEW , IN ITS ORIGINAL BOX , 2nd Generation RANGETOPPERS Pyroceram Clad Aluminum Bottom saucepan for range top use - not for microwave use The box was opened for photographs only This saucepan was originally packaged and sealed in a box glued up inside out so the brown is on the outside and the printing on the inside The plain black and white label on the outside says: CORNING WARE, 1-QT. SAUCEPAN WITH COVER, GC-4 SPICE O' LIFE The printed inside is for 1st generation aluminum bottom RANGETOPPERS Saucepans (N-1-8) that are manufactured with the aluminum on the outside bottom of the pan and not the ceramic-clad aluminum bottom saucepan contained in the box Our suspicion is that this was sold in 1980 or earlier ahead of the general market introduction for the 2nd generation Pyroceram clad aluminum bottom RANGETOPPERS line of Corning Ware (we surmise this from the flier in the pan with a printing code of 8/80 since there are no copyright dates visible on the packaging inside or out and this could fit with known timing for the product launch of the 2nd generation RANGETOPPERS) The Pyrex cover (lid) P81C, was designed with a slightly loose fit and 4 downward facing large scallops around the edge to allow for easy escape of steam to help prevent rattling and stress on the glass while cooking (see photos) Whether you are a Corning Ware collector or simply someone who, like us, appreciates the ease of use inherent with Corning Ware, this RANGETOPPERS 1-Qt.
