Vintage 1960s Rörstrand Sweden Eden Pattern Ovenware Fruit and Leaf design (Apple) Pan with Lid Model 10 ~ Designed by Sigrid Richter 💜💙 Gorgeous HTF RARE Piece!! 💙💜 Vintage, Pre-owned condition. Length with handle: Approx 9" Diameter: Approx 6" Base width: Approx 5.5" Handle Length: Approx 3" Height: Approx 4.5" **Some surface wear, line crazing of glaze near handle, and a few small pits/stains. Lid also has a couple of spots near the edge. Please see photos for details. ~ Last 2 images show above listed defects, please zoom to see details beyond what I have described. ~There seems to be a tiny loose piece in between the pot that can be heard, most likely from manufacturing. HISTORY An Overview of Sigrid Richter's Eden Series: Rorstrand Pottery has been in business for almost 300 years; it was founded in Stockholm's Rorstrand Castle in 1726, making it the second oldest ceramics producer in Europe. In the 1960s, Rorstrand released the Eden pattern. It was designed by a German faience painter, who later became a ceramics designer named Sigrid Richter. Sigrid Richter was born and raised in Germany. She then came to Sweden during the 1950s to paint Stig Lindberg’s faiences at Gustavsberg's Porcelain Factory. Sigrid was later employed by Rörstrand where she designed the tableware Eden in 1960. The series was made of flintware with printed purple-blue apple motif. From Rorstrand Website: The credit for designing Eden is often wrongly attributed to Marianne Westman. The fact is that Marianne was travelling in the USA at the time, so the assignment was given to the German decorative artist, Sigrid Richter. She had previously worked as a faience painter at Gustavsberg before moving to Rörstrand in the mid-1950s. It is, however, uncertain how many decorative designs Sigrid created before returning to her native Hannover to follow a career as a ceram
