It is new with original tag indicating brand, Fancipans, is made by Columbian, a division of General Housewares Corp., Terre Haute, Indiana and imported from France. It has a pretty floral, paisley type, design in browns, tans & yellow, on white. Bottom & handles are black. It has a long handle on one side and a knob on the lid. Silver trim is stainless steel. Dish washer safe, oven safe to 425 degrees, no polishing needed. Tag says it is ceramic porcelain from France. This particular item was part of one of those 1970's, "Open a bank account and receive a toaster, blender etc" In this case it was a starter piece of what is pictured in the included (Yes, the ad is included" 10 piece porcelain enamel coated cookware set by "FANCIPANS". Condition: This fine piece of cookware was received as an anniversary present some 60 years ago. It was placed in our pantry and never saw any use. It is "Like New" condition with original mfr. wrap, tag and box. It don't get no newer than that!!
